Look what I found at the store! Do you know how handy this is for the cooking-challenged? I cooked my very first fried egg after 35 years of living on this planet... and I didn't even screw it up.
Wow.

Christmastime at Pike's Place Market
Down by the waterfront, baby. Way different than a Utah Christmas, that's for sure!
Flying Famous Fish
These guys had their whole act going on today... yelling, singing, throwing fish, getting the crowed riled up. They were even hitting on girls. It was great. :)
Sleeping with the Fishes
I always wondered if these hideous looking fish actually sell... and who buys them. And do they really EAT them?
Eesh.
Eesh.

8th & Olive
Check it out! Today I discovered they're painting the side of the building the apartment is in. It was pretty nasty before. Spiffy now, eh?
On the flipside of this parking lot (imagine behind me as I was snapping the picture) is the Greyhound Bus terminal. I walk by all the busses in the morning that are loading up people to travel all over the country when I am on my way to my car. :)

Seattle or New York City?
Downtown Seattle at Christmas feels and looks more like New York City, I swear. Look at the sea of people!
The guy holding the Jesus sign was yelling at everyone telling them that they were all going to Hell. He didn't tell ME that, though! Heh heh.
Oh, and the tall building right in the middle of the picture is Macy's.

Cat bag from Schimmy
This was a handmade birthday gift I received from a gal I've been working with for a year now, but have never met in person. She works at our vendor site in Oklahoma City and she's always been the sweetest to me over the phone. She knew I was a cat lover and put together this adorable little handbag for me with my name on it and everything! The inside is lined with material with paw prints all over it. I've already had multiple compliments on the shuttle I ride everyday.
I am not really a purse person, so I've turned it into a little lunch tote. She even put a little pocket inside that I put money in to buy my ice waters every morning. The bag is just damn cute overall.
THANKS SCHIMMY!!!
PS... And I finally did get to met her in person (!!) the other day when she was out here for a training. :)

I got LAY'd!
God bless my mother in law.
GOD BLESS YOU, TERI.
These are chips I fell in love with... and now they don't sell them in WA anymore. Limon chips by Lay's.... and Teri sent me SEVEN BAGS from California.
I'm in 7th heaven... at least till they run out. ;)

Utah Billboards
I found these pictures by accident on a weather website. I love it! Totally makes me homesick for Utah culture, as cheesy and G-rated as it is. :)

Birthday drinkin'!
This would've been a better picture withOUT the cider bottle right there in the middle. Sheesh.
Oh well.
Jim and I went out for drinks at Temple Billiards for a little birthday celebrating. Thirty-freakin'-five years old, people.
For a gift, Jim is treating me to a spa treatment; a facial and also a pedicure! Suh-weeeeet.

Newark, NJ
This was the view from our hotel window in Newark, NJ the last night of our trip. It poured rain the first night we arrived, and also the last night before we departed. (We mostly only got drizzle in New York City.)
The traffic was so insane at rush hour, a cop finally had to direct traffic in the intersection down below our window. And in this picture... the traffic isn't even BAD yet!
If I lived there I would never own a car. People are insane on the streets.

Times Square, NYC, 2005
Freakin' AMAZING. :) When Jim and I walked upstairs from the subway and saw all this... we both just said (at the exact same time): "Wowwwwww!"
The Red Carpet
Here's the red carpet we got to make our entrance on. That is Jim's agent Ann Rittenberg on the left there... and we had to stop for a minute while Jim got his picture taken by the photographer(s) in the background.
One of the more surreal moments in my life!

Ground Zero
This is where 9/11 happened. I think this was more of an information center rather than a memorial. It was right in front and behind those fences is where the towers were. It's basically just a big hole right now. It was hard to actually get pictures of, being ground level and all.
Surrounding buildings
It was interesting to see the damage done to the surrounding buildings. Kinda gives you a sense of what occurred...
Jim's looking towards WTC site...
I turned around to snap a picture of the buildings near the World Trade Center and accidentally caught Jim's reaction to the whole experience. I didn't even realize it till I looked at all the pictures I had taken later that night. It was pretty overwhelming to him.

The Chelsea Inn
This was our entire room at the Chelsea Inn in New York City. All this for $205 a night! And if you think it looks like a bed in a closet... you should see the bathroom.
We were so clausterphobic by the time we left.

More dressed up than our wedding!
I'll be putting up more pictures from our trip to NYC and the Quill Awards probably tomorrow... but I at least wanted to get something up for now. :)
I'm sorry to say we didn't get a full stand-up picture of us side by side... but you get the idea from this picture of how we looked.
And if I don't say so myself... we looked HOT! (For us, at least.)
Hee hee.
Oh, and this was at a trendy NYC bar around midnight after the awards with Jim's agent, Ann Rittenberg (the picture taker). See those martinis? Twelve bucks each, baby!

The Nettleton
In a week and a half... we're MOVIN' ON UP. This is the Nettleton in downtown Seattle. Soon to be our new pad. :)
More pics to come!
(Behind those trees there, behind the fence... is our pool. And soon-to-be 15 person hottub.)
EL YAY!!!

The 13th Floor!
The window above the one Jim's finger is touching will be our LIVING ROOM. Thirteenth floor, baby! Second from the top. Jim's freaking out (he hates heights)... but the view is to die for! (Heh)
The Garage Sale!
We finally did it! After weeks of procrastinating... we finally got good weather and went ahead with the garage sale. This is the afternoon of Day One... and most of the good stuff was sold early that morning. We never did sell the big green couch.
Anyone need a cheap used couch? I think at this point we'll PAY YOU to take it. :)

Hella brekkie...
My husband makes some pretty kick ass breakfasts around here.
And the veggie even cooked me up some SAUSAGES!
Now THAT, folks... is love.

Meterosexual Jim
At the garage sale, Jim tried on one my turtlenecks that were for sale... and suddenly turned gay.

The Constant Gardener
Wow. What a great movie. A little slow at first... but it was just great. Beautifullly shot, awesomely acted... sad, touching, horrific, unique....
I bet it gets picture of the year.
And of course Jimmy cried the whole way through. :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.
The first man in my life (Tigey!!!) with the last man in my life (Jimmy!!!).
Tigey's been with me ever since I can remember, and I recently uncovered him in storage. Last night I took him to bed with me and when I woke up, showered, and came back into the bedroom ... THIS IS WHAT I DISCOVERED. :)
Man and beast love.

Jim and Ted
Jim... a little drunkish (as he SHOULD BE!) with Ted @ his wedding... the man who changed our lives.
Seriously.
Ted was a fan of mycathatesyou.com... and sent Jim an email saying, "Would you like to write a book?"
'Nuff said.
Thank you, Ted.

Our shrimpy city!
Picture Jim's flight finally arriving SEA. Sitting near him is a family from New Jersey, and the little kid behind him was all excited to visit our emarald city... until he saw it from his window. He then yelled: "DAD! Look how shrimpy it is! Seattle is a shrimpy little city!"
How I would love to show this kid Salt Lake City. :)

What in the world?
The planet is some freaky stuff! Is this an eyeball... or part of the Great Salt Lake? I took this from the airplane window yesterday as we were taking off and wow..... how bizarre.
Utah produces some of the weirdest stuff. And I'm not just talking about the people!

Setting Up!
PHOENIX FESTIVAL 2005
The following are pics from the Phoenix Fest; a 5 day electronic music festival held out on private property in Klickitat County, WA. (Out in the middle of NOWHERE) We were only able to stay 2 nights due to unexpected sleep deprivation, but had an ABSOLUTE BLAST. Basically, it was an outdoor rave and Jim's discovered a new love... techno!!
We were the first people to claim this area of camping, and eventually we were surrounded by other campers. And look how nicely we set up our camp! This is the first time we've tried camping on our own, and I think we did a pretty good job. We bought all the equipment just days before... and thank GOD we bought the canopy at the last minute because we would have FRIED in the sun otherwise. We would have bought better sleeping pads if we were aware we'd be setting up on volcanic rocks.
I'm still hurting... but DAMN did we have a good time. The following pics don't do this whole experience justice. We were having too much fun to take more pictures.

The Delivery Truck
This is the delivery truck that delivers "mail that cannot be delivered" at Burning Man.** We saw it the first day we arrived, and surprisinly ended up being neighbors at camp with the friends of the guy who owns and drives the truck. We found ourselves riding around in it at 2am Saturday morning. :) (See pics of Michael and Dawn - our neighbors - below)
**My mom could be wondering what Burning Man is. Mom... it's the wildest event of the year held in Gerlach, NV once a year in September. Is it a coincidence Gerlach is my stepdad's last name? WHO KNOWS!

Our Neighbor Michael
Michael and Dawn were our neighbors at camp at the festival. They were unexpectedly wonderful and friendly... definitely one of the highlights of our whole experience. They live on Capitol Hill in Seattle and are our age.
