The owner of the building (of where Jim's bar will be) painted the outside of the building and it looks fantastic! It totally catches your attention when you're driving down the street, too.

Inside the dome
This was the huge mining rig replica in the middle of the dome inside the casino. The "sky" lighting would change throughout the day... and sometimes it would even put on a thunder and lightning show. That rig, by the way, is taller than my apartment building.

The Silver Legacy Casino
Okay, here is the first batch of photos from my recent 4 night stay in Reno at the Silver Legacy Casino. (THANK YOU, JIM!) I'll post some more tomorrow, but Mom... I promised you some tonight so here you go. :)

Look there in the sky!
Okay, I'm sorry this was the best I could zoom in. Click on the picture and it will make it a little larger.
SeaFair 2006... Blue Angels airshow
These suckers were LOUD when I heard them flying over my apartment. FOR TWO HOURS. I couldn't even hear my TV.

Sailboats
Although it doesn't look like it, this was another nice summery day. Minutes before this picture, it was sunny... then it turned cool and was about to rain. I can't remember the name of this marina, but it was a little north and east of the University area. Apparently it's also a Naval base.
Hidden beach!
I found this on a spontaneous drive along Lake Washington. I just may go back with a beach chair in tow!
GOSH!
I so do not look forward to rain, clouds, umbrellas, coats, heavy clothing, socks, shoes, puddles, slow traffic 'cause no on in Seattle knows how to drive in the rain....
Aw summer. How I love thee!

Georgetown wading pool
Mom... this one is for you. :)
This is what I mean by a wading pool. Notice the zero depth entrance... and the part where it gets blue is only about 2 feet deep. Because the water is so shallow, it gets pretty warm. The City of Seattle empties these and refills them everyday... and they only fill them on days that are forecast to be over 70 degrees. UNFORTUNATELY they close on August 18th which I am NOT happy about.
I'd kill to have one of these in my own back yard. :)
