NEW WINDOWS! And they don't come cheap, folks. It's amazing what a difference an extra pane of glass will make. Our heating bill has gone down and this summer we won't roast to death like last year.
Seriously, we'd come home at night in July where it was nice and cool outside, and inside out house was 95 frickin' degrees. ALL NIGHT LONG. Crappy windows will let cold AND heat in, people. Our house was an oven. (This is also due in part because no one has air conditioning in Washington, a concept completely foreign to me!)
Anyhoo... dig the bay window in the kitchen!

VANCOUVER, BC... April 2005
Okay! Here are just a few pictures I took on our weekend get-away. If you can, read from the bottom up, starting with the first picture "Vancouver Jimmy." I'm still trying to figure out how to organize stuff on this thing. Let me know what you think of the pictures! (Even though it was rainy, it was still a cool trip. We definitely want to go back when it's sunny.)
Now that's a library!
If you're gonna build a library... WOW. Check out Vancouver's!!! This is Michelle-heaven, baybeee. :)
Street Markets
Here's an example of the open markets they have all over the place in downtown Vancouver.
I know this guy
And here is one happy customer of the market. He bought chocolate, doughnuts, and later a smoothie. Always a sucker for the sweets. :)
Granville Island Caramel Apples
This was at the open market on Granville Island. It was like Pike's Place Market on steroids, and much cheaper. These apples are an example of how delicious everything was here. The place was huge; you could buy fresh produce, meats, flowers, candies, chocolates, breads, bakery items, pasta, olives, spices, candles, pottery, jewelry, art, photography, cheese, wine, and any international food you can possibly imagine. You could also get local and international newspapers and magazines. And of course I'm probably only mentioning about a quarter of the stuff that's actually there.
City of Glass
See? Glass, glass, glass. The city is just amazing. Imagine this on a sunny day. And imagine having that penthouse on the roof! I would kill to live in a place like this.
Vancouver Jimmy
This was our trip to Vancouver, BC for our first anniversary. Okay, so the weather was just like Seattle... but we both fell in love with the city! To me it looks like "the city of glass". Vancouver was smart enough to build up, instead of out. (God help them if they have an earthquake, though.) The entire downtown and surrounding areas are high-rise apartments, condos, office buildings, and hotels. It's WAY bigger than Seattle.

Speaking of format...
I totally apologize for the format in which everything's getting posted here. I'm a beginner at this kind of stuff and don't really know HTML. Okay, so I realize I live with the Nerd of all Nerds but we never really talk tech stuff... so just bear with me please. :) As time goes on this blog will start to look better. I PROMISE!
And now? The Jimster and I are off to Vancouver, BC for our weekend get-away/first anniversary trip. I will post pics when we get back!
OH CANADA... OH CANADA.......

Jim's Dome
To Jim, this is better than porn. This was taken in Stansbury Park, UT where you can see HERDS of NERDS looking at the stars at night. :)
Pretty day in Seattle
This was taken a few weeks ago after we got done eating the best seafood brunch buffet EVER (!!) at Salty's on Alki in West Seattle. If this picture gets posted to my blog with no hitches, I will be so proud of myself I can't even believe it. Okay, here goes...
